WHO I AM AS A TEACHER

a.    My teaching philosophy

I believe in collective learning based on individual support for students. Each student is a different universe and that is why the teacher must have the ability to exploit each of the attitudes and aptitudes of the students.

b.    My beliefs about my teaching

I am a teacher who always approaches students, I believe that the teacher must first of all be a friend of the student in order to create a bond that allows the student to fully trust the teacher. I consider myself a sympathetic teacher, who tries to ensure that all students learn according to their abilities and never force them to do activities that are not within their capabilities.

c.    What I learned about teaching speaking skills

All these sessions were a permanent learning for me as a teacher; The challenge of teaching speaking was very enriching since I faced a methodology that allowed me to exploit my skills and the abilities of my students. It was very important to develop self-confidence in the students so that they would lose the fear to speak in a group way, achieving session by session that the results will improve significantly.

d.    What I learned about teaching in online environments

Teaching in online environments is very enriching, the possibility of meeting students in several geographical places at the same time is invaluable. Being able to use the technological tools as didactic support for each of the online sessions was very important, since the students were in permanent contact with different media for learning such as audio, videos, texts, etc.

e.    My principles about teaching speaking online

ü  Develop self-confidence in each of the students. 

ü  Dedicate the same amount of time to each of the students. 

ü  Prepare the classes in advance to meet each of the established objectives. 

ü  Dedicate enough time to the evaluation of students to be able to exploit their skills and attack their weaknesses. 

ü  Be open to the possibilities that each of the students has, keeping in mind that they are all in different geographical places.
